Many airplanes lack inflight information systems, leaving passengers wondering about their location, altitude, ground speed, distance to the destination in Miles, Nautical Miles, and Kilometers, and estimated arrival time. Flight Nav is an app designed to provide this vital information by utilizing GPS signals in Airplane Mode, ensuring you stay informed throughout your journey.
Aside from real-time flight tracking, Flight Nav allows users to record their flights and share them as GPX files. It's worth noting that the flight recording feature may drain your device's battery faster as it operates continuously.
The app offers convenient features such as a "Don't sleep" function to prevent the screen from turning off during use. However, bear in mind that GPS reception within an aircraft can be unreliable, with better results typically observed from window seats. Users seated in the middle of wide-body airplanes might experience delays or complete signal loss at times.
Map details may vary at different zoom levels due to offline operation; hence, it's recommended to use the app to cache map data while connected before flying. Remember to adhere to cabin crew instructions on device usage and seek guidance if unsure, even when in Airplane Mode.
